Description

We've got an scenario where some Hive tables fail to return any result; even a SELECT COUNT(*) FROM Table returns null.

The affected tables are not empty, as can be deduced for the fact that there are files in their Hive Warehouse folder and a 'Hadoop fs -du ...' shows they are not empy.

The format of the input data is text sequence files. HDInsight cluster versión is 1.5.

Using the provided workaround we can make the tables work as expected. Thanks!

This can occur if there is an issue with the line delimiter. The workaround is to change the line delimiter to '\n'. Therefore, replace the end of the CREATE TABLE command to LINES TERMINATED BY '\n'
