Also when first installing Windows 7 deleting previous partition and doing a fresh/clean install on a drive seems to run smooth and even on the old performance lacking laptop seems to work as one would expect in terms of the ease of installing goes, I actually like it much better than using the older Windows XP method which featurered the DOS like screens, the installation interface and time it takes to install and complete the process is definately better.

If/when you do finally get Windows 7 installed, it's also good to run a Check for and Install updates and run the search for problems troubleshooters once windows is installed, because if Windows finds there's update for driver available it'll show like normal as being available and you can install it, but if you need for instance a driver it can't find try going to manufacturer, if you can download driver to a flashdrive via USB from another machine and can't access the internet through the Windows 7 machine sometimes it's easier to just download the drivers to the keydrive from manufacturers website then transfer and install it on the machine that has Windows 7.

After you install Windows 7, sometimes if you have problem running or installing something it helps to right click on the program or driver installer you're trying to install and click Troubleshoot Compatibility, if it worked on a system before with a previous operating system installed (for instance Windows XP or Vista) then select one of the previous operating systems from the list and see if that will let you install and/or run the program. Doing that makes settings changes that Windows 7 will make the application think or set it up to run as if it's on a previous operating system. This is one of the special compatibility features that helps insure programs will run on it. However, it's not 100% perfect and at this point there's still a few issue's not fully resolved for certain applications.

I tested it with a very old Sound Blaster Live! X-Gamer card and it installs the Sound Blaster Value Card driver Microsoft equivalence and it works just fine.

Only problems I've noticed with drivers are not all drivers are installed and some you need to get directly from computer manufacturer.

Mostly network (Ethernet/Wireless/Modem) and misc PCI or video drivers.

Problems on 1 test machine I installed it on an old laptop too to see if I could install on a older laptop to see how it'd do: Around 1GHz CPU, Dell Latitude C810 512MB Memory 40 GB Hardrive, NVidia 2Go video card 16 or 32mb, on that laptop the wireless and ethernet I haven't been able to get working yet so no internet for it, but Windows 7 runs ok on it other than that.

Thank you for your feedback. However, there is not a public connection for Win7 feedback at the moment. If you are part of a pre-RTM Win7 program, please work with that group. Thank you.
