This description includes both the problem and the reasoning.
I noticed a flip animation of the desktop when launching a desktop application(Open Office) in one instance. It should always be a slide animation for the desktop or just a simple switch, never a flip. It has to be cool to launch a desktop application, not over-animated.

I would also like to see a Classic UI switcher so that a person can choose their UI, either Metro or Windows 7 style UI, or switch between the two when they want to with a simple reboot. I actually used a UI switcher that was available on the web, and after trying it out, actually "switched back" to the new UI. It is just nice to have the choice and to be able to see how the new desktop presentation compares to the old one after installing an application.

A simple UI switcher would ensure that every single Windows customer gets what they want and would ensure across-the-board acceptance of Windows 8.

Why did I even bother trying the old UI you are wondering? It was that flip animation of the desktop. It made me want to check out the old UI desktop to compare it with the new one. See what a little animation is capable of?

iebeta - thanks for the win8 feedback. However, our team is not the owner of Win8 feedback - we own the Connect platform. Suggest you visit http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/ and specifically http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/desktop/aa905013 for support channels.
