User(s) can reproduce this bug
With many keyboard layouts, characters such as ä, é or ù are composed using dead keys. This mechanism seems to be broken at least with the "French (Canada)" keyboard layout. (The precise term used in Windows XP is "Canadian Multilingual Standard".)

Instead of composing the expected ê character, xWeb 3 prints "e" (please note that the circumflex mark is missing) in Design View, and "Ņ" in Code View.

Repro Steps? (N/A for Suggestion)
1. Change the keyboard layout to "French (Canada)", "Canadian Multilingual Standard" by using "Regional and Language Options" in the Control Panel.
2. Use Notepad or a similar editor to type the ê character. With a US keyboard, you probably need to press [, then e.
3. Use the same keystrokes in xWeb 3. In Design View, this will print "e" instead of "ê". In Code View, this will print "Ņ".

Hi Christoph,

Thank you for reporting this issue to us and for forwarding the additional information. I've assigned this to a developer on my team and we will be looking at this for Expression Web 4. Unfortunately, the window of opportunity for the service pack had pretty much closed by the time we got this, so this will not be fixed for that release.

This behavior is disgraceful in Microsoft software.

With me, the problem of the dead keys (keyboard VS International set) occurs ONLY when the toolbar Code View is set. When this toolbar is inactive, I can use ''^'`~ëéç etc withouth any problem.
