On 12/12/12 the above MS Update was installed.

This kills the use of OpenType fonts that use Postscript outlines in Expression Design 4.

In ED4, choose the type tool, select any OT font that uses PS outline encoding. The font will appear blank on the page and, of course, in output.

We recently announced that we are discontinuing development of Expression Design. You can read the full announcement on our community page at http://msdn.microsoft.com/expression. Because this product is no longer in development, we are closing all outstanding bugs.
