The inability to debug javascript while Visual Studio's debugger is running is really annoying. I can run Firebug at the same time as the VS debugger. Why not the IE8 Dev Tools? This is MAJOR design flaw and does little to encourage me to use the Dev Tools; in fact it makes me feel Firebug is the superior product.

There is a loss of functionality or poor functionality within Internet Explorer.

Please try to reproduce this issue in No Add-ons mode and answer the following 2 questions. You can find the No Add-ons shortcut under All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).  Click here for more information.

Open an ASP.NET project in Visual Studio. Add some javascript to the page and press F5. With IE8 running the localhost page, attempt to debug the javascript using the Dev Tools.

I expect to be able to debug javascript just like I can with Firebug on Firefox, no matter if I have the VS debugger running or not.

I get an error message stating a instance of the debugger is already running.
