Description

The "automatic prompting for file downloads" setting in the zone security settings in IE9+ is missing. This setting controls the following registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\2 ---Key--- 2202

The default value of the key in the trusted sites zone is 0x03 which disables the option. The original configuration flag sets the value to 0x0.

This is causing the following scenario to break:

1. Site in trusted sites zone.
2. Site launches ClickOnce application using JavaScript "windows.location.href = "/.../App.application";"
3. Nothing happens.

This was configurable in IE8 but not in IE9 which has broken ClickOnce under these circumstances.

Thank you for your feedback.

We will investigate this for IE10. If you are able to provide a sample application that demonstrates what you are trying to accomplish, please add it as an attachment with instructions explaining how to reproduce the problem.

Best regards,

I have discovered that where our export button no longer reacted in IE10, holding down the CTRL + ALT keys and clicking on the link spawned the file download dialogue panel successfully.
