Thanks for reporting this issue. An IE11 WebGL renderer update was just released (v0.93); it passes ~93% of Khronos tests now, and supports the WEBGL_compressed_texture_s3tc, OES_texture_float, OES_texture_float_linear, EXT_texture_filter_anisotropic, OES_standard_derivatives extensions.

We are working on v0.94. The current Khronos score for v0.94 is ~97%.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug. We are working on making WebGL renderer more interoperable and complete.

We will take your feedback into consideration in our ongoing efforts to improve Internet Explorer.

Best regards,

The Internet Explorer Team

That WebGL report site now reports 16k out of 19k tests pass with WebGL version 0.92.
However, this is still a bit disappointing. WebGL 1.0 is necessary.

Hi. IE Team please add support WebGL even though 1.0 . It will be very pity to wait next version of IE to make better WebGL apps without fragmented support. It will be very great to see support of WebGL 1.01 in IE 11!

@dirk_1980: I know that. read the "What is the expected behavior?" section in details.

[I hate to say whatever I am going to say next...]

Anyway, is it something too much to ask? Are you suggesting we should be OK with it? They are already ONE year late in the game. Do you really want IE to support WebGL 1.0.1 in 2014 or 2015 when WebGL guys will move on to version 2.x?

Please don't make it habit telling people about 0.9 version story in every WebGL feedback on Connect, as if its GIVEN. We, as web developers, cannot afford having WebGL app fragmented due to their failure to recognize our needs.. Not again!! NOT IN WEBGL STANDARDS TOO!!

@IE team PLEASE DON'T FAIL US. WE ARE STILL TOLERATING YOUR PROCRASTINATION.

Because IE11 not (yet) support WebGL completely.
http://webglreport.com/

IE11 = WebGL 0.9 / WebGL GLSL ES 0.9 / No Extensions
Firefox = WebGL 1.0 / WebGL GLSL ES 1.0 / 7+ Extensions
Google Chrome = WebGL 1.0 / WebGL GLSL ES 1.0 / 11+ Extensions
