Description

Inside my body I have 2 phone numbers and a piece of javascript. If you open this HTML page in IE on a Windows Mobile 8 device, the phone number is shown 3 times. I can not think how in the world this is possible unless the browser is trying to render the javascript variable and making it a clickable link and for some reason displaying it.

(812) 555-1234
(812) 555-1234

To debug your web applications. (Mobile or desktop)

f12>Console tab, ..... refresh the page to show suppressed error messages and warnings...

your missing a valid document type declaration and head block.... the IE Developer will tell you this...
or
go to validator.w3.org and validate your markup and correct the errors.

Mobile versions of webbrowsers include built-in phone number detection and will automatically place anchor tags with the tel protocol around phone numbers in web content.

to prevent this from happening in variables in your script blocks use the CData comments.

add a valid DTD to your document... use the xhtml namespace so that your html editor will use the xhtml syntax checking...
