This Microsoft Desktop Workshop (MDW) Program focuses on the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) to assist customers to move from older versions of Windows to deploy with Windows 7®. This Workshop will cover the basics of Microsoft Deployment, focusing on the new tools and the provisioning of computers through Lite Touch to create a Windows 7-based image and deploy it in up to three different scenarios:
  • MICROSOFT DEPLOYMENT OVERVIEW
    • Windows 7 - Deployment technologies
      • WAIK, ImageX, WinPE, Windows Deployment Services
  • MASTER IMAGE CREATION PROCESS
    • Windows 7 Master image creation process using the Microsoft Deployment
      • Including 2 sample applications
      • Injecting drivers
  • DEPLOYMENT PROCESS
    • New Computer.
      • Deploy Windows 7 Master image to 1 computer
    • Replace Computer
    • Upgrade Computer
      • Upgrade Windows XP/Windows Vista to Windows 7 using a master image
Microsoft will fund up to CDN $5,000 per approved 5 Day PoC for qualified MDW partners that meet the following requirements.

Program Execution In 8 Steps
.
1. Sign and submit a 2-way agreement to subsidiary contact
2. Get material by downloading the SOW PoC Template and guidance.
3. Find customer and align with Microsoft Account Team
4. Present SOW to subsidiary contact for approval.
5. Technology Partners must have the customers sign the customer release form and submit to subsidiary contact
6. Conduct PoC.
7. Complete and Submit the PoC Completion Report
8. Upon Approval, invoice Microsoft. Contact the program subsidiary lead to learn specific invoicing steps for your region.
