Q. How to install Phoenix SDK

To ensure a successful installation of the Phoenix SDK, review the following information before installation and complete the Installation Procedure in the order listed.

Installation Procedure:

  1. If present, uninstall previous versions of the Phoenix RDK, SDK or CDK.
  2. If present, uninstall previous version of Microsoft Visual Studio.
  3. Install Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 or the free Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition. If you use the express versions, you may find it useful to install both the C++ and the C# express editions.
  4. Install the Microsoft Phoenix SDK Pre-release

Previous Phoenix Versions

If you already have any version of the Phoenix RDK (or SDK, or CDK) on your system, you must uninstall it before installing the new SDK.

Visual Studio 2008
This version of the Phoenix SDK requires Visual Studio 2008 during installation. Make sure Visual Studio 2008 is installed before you install the Phoenix SDK. If you have any previous version of Visual Studio, we recommend using the uninstall tool before installing Visual Studio 2005. You must uninstall previous version of the Phoenix RDK (or SDK, or CDK) before you uninstall Visual Studio 2005. After uninstalling Visual Studio, you will be unable to uninstall the Phoenix SDK. You will be unable to install the new Phoenix SDK unless the old SDK/RDK has been removed.
