No, this is new to the most recent version
1) In an extensive console history window, scroll up to see some past text, (exception logging information, for example).
2) Click in the script window.
3) Try to select some of the text visible in the console window.
Result: The text you tried to select vanishes, and the window is scrolled so you can see the blinking cursor at the bottom of the buffer.
Expect: I clicked in the window with the intent to select text, not enter a command. If I type in the window, that is a better reason to infer that I mean to select some text. Until then, assume I meant to click what I clicked.
