The last section in the topic "HOW TO DISABLE AND RE-ENABLE $PSDefaultParameterValues" shows how to enable/disable the feature. There are two command occurrences that are missing quotes in the key name:

$PSDefaultParameterValues[Disabled]=$true
...
$PSDefaultParameterValues[Disabled]=$false



It should be:

$PSDefaultParameterValues["Disabled"]=$true
...
$PSDefaultParameterValues["Disabled"]=$false
