Windows PowerShell Home
Powershell ISE not respecting High Contrast Theme InfoText
7/5/2013 10:22:41 AM
User(s) can reproduce this bug
Under Windows 8 Pro x64, using Windows Powershell ISE (32-bit or 64-bit, doesn't matter which), when Intellisense tries to match what's being typed, it will also display a window showing command help and parameter information. This window uses background color of "InfoWindow" when using a High Contrast display theme. But the window does not respect the color setting of "InfoText" as defined in the theme. This results in the window text being black-on-black and unreadable.
How often does this happen?
Have you seen this problem before in this product?
I do not know if this issue existed previously
Switch to High Contrast Theme #1.
Open Windows Powershell ISE (x32 or x64, doesn't matter)
In the script editor window (at top), start typing get-wmi... (not the trailing ellipsis though).
You will see a drop down menu appear with list of commands to choose from.
Wait a moment, and you will see another window appear next to the drop down. It will be entirely black, but in a non-high contrast theme, this window contains guidance on the various ways to call the Get-WmiObject command.
InfoWindow that shows information about the command will be black text on black background, not respecting the InfoText color setting of the theme, which should be yellow.
