Microsoft is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Statement applies to the data collected by Microsoft through the "Windows Server Solutions Log Collector Preview" application ("Application"). The Application consists of a command-line utility that users can manually run on the computer that is joined to a Windows Server Solutions server (e.g., Windows Server Code Named “Aurora,” or "Vail").  The tool transmits the troubleshooting information files that are gathered from the Windows computer that is joined to a Windows Server Solutions server or from a Windows Server Solutions server to Microsoft. The Application does not send any data to Microsoft automatically. The Application sends the troubleshooting information to Microsoft server only if you choose to do so by running the Application.

In order to send troubleshooting information from your networked computer, you need to run the Application on that computer. In order to send troubleshooting information from your server, the Application should be run from your server. This Privacy Statement does not apply to data collected through other online or offline Microsoft sites, products, or services. This Privacy Statement does not apply to Windows Server Code Name Aurora, or Windows Server Code Name Vail.  These pre-release servers have their own Privacy Statements as follows:

Collection of Information

The information collected by the Application may include the following types of information:  Windows Server Solutions computer configuration data, Windows Server Solutions logs and trace files, the logs and trace files for the computer joined to Windows Server Solutions, the IP address, domain name, company name, password hint, country, domain user name, the system event log, the application event log, the server event log, services information, server version, registry information and performance counters, network captures, machine names, memory space available, list of processors, file names, and user names.

Reporting of Information to Microsoft

The Application allows you to submit the information collected by the Application to Microsoft through the Internet using the Microsoft Error Reporting service. Software or hardware developers employed by Microsoft or one of its partners can analyze the fault data and try to identify and correct the problem. Microsoft will not use this information to identify users. Control of Your Personal Information

You can review the information that is collected by the Application.

The information collected by the Application can be reviewed by visiting the link provided on the error submission dialog. It will open the location of the log files. The log files can be edited using a text editor.

Use of Your Personal Information

The information collected by the Application can be used to assist in investigating issues with Windows Server Solutions. Information collected by this Application is not automatically sent to Microsoft, but users choose to do so by running the Application.
