Thanks for contacting us. Can you provide us the Setup log files located at C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\Log\Hotfix so we can investigate further.

Thanks,
Peter Saddow []Microsoft]

Is there a solution to this? I have this exact problem on at least two of my W2k3 Std servers; In both cases, the SQL has been installed by external applications.

We are having the same problem...looked on a lot of different sites (many people having the same problem). Any assistance would be appriciated.

Thanks,
