Description

The OLE DB Source Editor allows us to use a SQL query that is stored in a variable by setting Data Access Mode = 'SQL Command from variable'.

The problem with this is that it is not possible to see the SQL query without coming out of the OLE DB Source Editor.

Jamie,
Thank you for the question. We have past the date to checkin for CTP5. I think it will be available in CTP6 instead.

Thanks to Jamie and others who commented on this. We were actually going through a hard triage meeting looking at hundreds of DCRs and at first rejected this item as we thought it didn't fit into our priorities in Katmai.

We thought about it again, and the good news is that we decided to take this in Katmai. I actually changed the state of this bug to be approved.

Thanks again for being patient and persistent with us.

Why on earth has this been set to "Resolved (Won't Fix)"

Yep, a good feature that should be easy to implement and one that adds great value to the GUI.

Having that ability would save tons of round trips to and from the variables/expression editor. I'd like to have something like this...
