Description

After Reporting Services has not fully installed on a system running Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition R2 with SP2, attempt to repair the installation by navigating through Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel to re-install Reporting Services. After doing so, I am unable to re-install Reporting Services due to the following error message:

Name: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services
Allowed Action: Maintain (Action is only available from Add or Remove Programs)
Reason: Cannot maintain product, to maintain the product go to Add or Remove Programs

Service pack requirement check:
Your upgrade is blocked because of service pack requirements. To proceed, apply the required service pack and then rerun SQL Server Setup. For more information about upgrade support, see the Version and Edition Upgrades topic in SQL Server 2008 Setup Help or SQL Server 2008 Books Online.

Thanks for reporting this issue. The Repair facility in setup was not supported in the July CTP. There is a new setup infrastructure coming in the next CTP. Repair should be functional at that time.
