Description

SQL 2008 CTP5 - October Release

I have two maintenance plans as follows:

User Databases - Backup all non system databases

System Databases - Backup all system databases, delete all .bak files older than 4 days, delete all .trn files older than 4 days, delete all .txt files older than 14 days

All .bak and .trn files are backed up to and deleted from the same folder at J:\MSSQL\sqlbackups

Here is a printout of my .bak files (I am not currently backing up any logfiles). Notice for all system databases there are only 5 files present, however for the CPAC and ReportServer backup files there are 8 each. It seems that my cleanup tasks are correctly deleting old system backups but my user backups are being ignored.

Hi Andy-T,
Thanks for reporting this issue. We found the problem happen only with the databases backedup using "backup compression". We will fix this soon and update this space accordingly

Thanks
Rajesh
