Description

I am using the pre-CTP5 version - build 10.0.1075.6

When I'm trying to manage a SQL 2005 instance, I can't generate script from SMMS for existing index or table. It works ok with SQL2008 databases.

Hi Assaf,

Currently you can try scripting by changing the "Script for server version" scripting option in Object Explorer to "SQL Server 2005".
This issue is resolved in the latest version. We will keep track of it.

Thanks

This error continues with SQL Server Management Studio "Katmai" November CTP.

Hello Assaf,

Thank you for reporting this problem.

We understand that script generation on a table/index is a basic operation and can cause great annoyance if it fails. We will check for this problem in SQL Server 2005 as well the recent CTP releases and get back to you.

Do watch out this space for details.

Thanks,
Karthik

Sorry,
the option must be set to the "SQL Server 2005" value,

Hi,

To enable the support for scripting SQL Server 2005 databases you need to set to "True" the "Script for Server version" option, available at [Tools] > [Options] >> [SQL server Object Explorer] > [Scripting]

;)
