Description

After a new, clean install, I can't create a new Integration Services Project without getting the following error in BIDS: "Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {AA40D6-CAEF-4A56-B9BB-D0D3DC976BA2} failed due to the following error: 800700c1."

The solution is still created, but when trying to manually add a new SSIS package in the "Solution Explorer" I get the following error:

Error creating package... Additional Information: Retrieving the COM class factory with CLSID {AA40D1D6-CAEF-4A56-D0D3DC976BA2} failed due to the following error: 800700c1. (Microsoft.SqlServer.ManagedDTS).

We are unable to reproduce the issue you are facing. In the event this problem happens again it might be caused by a bad installation. In some cases running the following command from the Run prompt on the start menu can fix the problem. The command is:
regsvr32.exe %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\100\DTS\Binn\dts.dll
Hope that helps.
