Please provide a background helper that makes the first launch of SSMS after install or after a reboot a little less painful. On a new RC0 installation, after rebooting, the splash screen doesn't appear until 9 seconds, and Object Explorer is not usable until 23 seconds. Closing SSMS and re-launching takes a grand total of 7 seconds, so there's obviously some initialization costs on first launch after reboot that aren't always there.

This is a 4-CPU, 8GB machine so I imagine the impact is felt a lot more on lower end desktops and laptops.

Proposed Solution

Set up a background service that pays these initialization costs at system start up (with the ability to be turned off, of course) so that the pain is never felt when launching SSMS.
