Workaround(s)
I'd like to suggest adding a "Profile Comparison" function would greatly enhance the Data Profile Viewer tool.

I'm regularly using the Data Profile Viewer to compare two profiles for similar tables (e.g. dev vs prod). I'm not looking for every minor difference as these are probably due to timing issues, test data etc. I am looking for the most significant changes e.g Column X has Null Ratio of 25% in one table/profile and 99% in the other.

Proposed Solution

Add a "Profile Comparison" function to the Data Profile Viewer tool. This would highlight the most significant differences between two Profile files. Differences could be differing column lists or detailed results e.g. differing Column Null Ratio Profiles, Column Value Distribution profiles. Include ability to view differences sorted by significance, e.g. Promote a variance of 100%, demote a variance that is close to 0%. Assist visualisation using Data Bars e.g. Green / right of 0 if Percentage from first file is higher, vs Red / left if Percentage from first file is lower.

Primary Benefit

Improved User Interface

Other Benefits

Developers & Administrators using the "Profile Comparison" function would quickly identify coding or data related issues, increasing the perceived reliability of the Microsoft products.

Virtualization

Hi, thank you for your feedback. We have investigated the need to support data profile comparison. The scope and impact of supporting this does not meet the criteria at this point. Do consider comparing the data profiling results external to SSIS.
