I tried finding this suggestion, but couldn't find it so if this is in fact a duplicate please accept my apologies.

It would be nice to see the line count in the New Query screen, so when an error occurs you can easily find the line where the problem is.

Have a label at the bottom of the query window that updates the line counter whenever you move your position within the query window, or just display the line count to the left of each line.

Faster Development

It makes sense to be there anyway.

Hi!, thanks for writing in to Microsoft.

You can show line numbers in the T-SQL editor by checking "Line numbers" under "Tools...Options...Text Editor...All Languages" in SSMS 2012 RTM.
