In SQL 2012 SP1, from Master Data Manager home page, there is a link to MDS Excel Add-in. However, the link directs to the RTM version of the of the Excel Addin, and not the SP1 version. which is version is compatible with Excel 2013. Upgrading MDS to SP1 should update this link to redirect to the Excel Add-in SP1 page.

ie

The issue is fixed. Please try again now and the link on the MDS Web UI home should point to the SP1 Excel Add-in.

Configure manually on 'Database Configuration' tab of Master Data Services Configuration Manger, where you can adjust the URL. Would be nice / would make sense if the SP1 (and future) upgrade(s) did this though.
