R/W Databases in Simple recovery do not allow page level restore.

Assume some data corruption happened on disk that affects 1 page. If the DB is otherwise logically consistent, and the extent it's has not been modified, then it should be possible to restore the corrupt page from the most recent full backup.

Check the DIFF bitmap for the containing extent and allow page level restore for pages in unchanged extents.

This would allow improved recovery options for in a corruption scenario.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, this is a fairly uncommon case, and would require much analysis to make sure that there was no possibility of causing logical corruption by restoring a page that was out of sync with the rest of the database. Furthermore, we have no way to ensure that the page coming from the backup is in sync with the rest of the database. It could be coming from a month-old backup, which would cause more problems.
