Workaround(s)
Even more so in tabular, we often have to expose multiple versions of the same entities through different user hierarchies in different tables. This happens often when modeling facts at different granularities. The users find this confusing. For complex models, this would simplify the user experience considerably.

Proposed Solution

Allow user hierarchies (or equivalent) that are not tied to a single table. The numbers displayed would be the same as if had simply crossjoined across the 3 tables. User hierarchies in their current form are focused on MDX consumers, so I don’t know what this would look like if added to tabular with DAX support, but something equivalent would be useful. Basically store a collection of columns from different tables as extra metadata.

Primary Benefit

Improved User Interface

Other Benefits

Virtualization

Thanks a lot for the feedback.
We are considering adding cross-table hierarchies in tabular models for a future release.

Kind regards,
