Windows operation systems always seem to install very, very old sql server drivers but not the sql server native client.
It is quite an expensive prerequisite for clients using an sql server datasource to install up-to-date database drivers.

We would greatly appreciate if the standard drivers in windows operation systems were a little more up-to-date.

EDIT: Could you please at least give a short explanation why you consider this to be correct ("by design")?
