User(s) can reproduce this bug
If you make use of the Object Explorer Details Pane, when browsing the list of databases the 'Name' column is compulsory but then there is a duplicate 'Name' column. If you deselect the respective 'Name' column then the column no longer shows. However, if you close out of SSMS and go back in the second 'Name' column is back again.

It is a minor/cosmetic error but a small pain that your preference/layout is not saved as it with the rest of the columns etc.

This error was in SQL 2008 as well.

Hello Chris. Thanks for the feedback. We triaged this issue and at this time do not plan to address this in a future version of SQL Server. -Walter A Jokiel, Program Manager, SQL Server (wajokiel@microsoft.com)
