Description

An index is compressed as follows:
ALTER INDEX [nx_myTable] ON [dbo].[myTable]
REBUILD PARTITION = ALL WITH (PAD_INDEX = OFF, STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE = OFF
                                                     , SORT_IN_TEMPDB = OFF, ONLINE = OFF
                                                     , ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS = ON, ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS = ON
                                                     , DATA_COMPRESSION = PAGE)

GO

When looking at then index editor in SSMS, I see no indication that the index is, or can be, compressed. Also, when I generate a CREATE INDEX script, it omits the compression option:

/****** Object: Index [nx_myTable]    Script Date: 10-1-2013 11:45:34 ******/
CREATE NONCLUSTERED INDEX [nx_myTable] ON [dbo].[myTable]
(
    [code_customer] ASC,
    [code_product] ASC,
    [code_structure] ASC,
    [code_collaborateur] ASC,
    [date_event] ASC
)WITH (PAD_INDEX = OFF, STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE = OFF, SORT_IN_TEMPDB = OFF, DROP_EXISTING = OFF, ONLINE = OFF, ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS = ON, ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS = ON) ON [PRIMARY]
GO

Please fix!

Hello

We took a look at this bug along with several others recently.
Unfortunately, triaging it against other critical bugs, I do not think we would get to investigating this in the nea
r future.
However, we have taken note of this internally, and when we revisit this functionality in the future, we will try and get this resolved.

Thanks for writing in to Microsoft.
