Running SQL 2012 SP1, 2 servers, 1 availability group. On Server B, where the replica state is secondary, if any user (including myself with sysadmin), right click on a local database, ie NOT IN THE AVAILABILITY GROUP, we get an error that states SSMS cannot show the requeted dialog box ... because database <not the database selected> is in an availability group, read only, etc.

I've check the SERVER STATE permissions (even though I'm sysadmin) and that's not the issue.

The error state is not consistent, but is frequent enough to reproduce more or less on demand, it comes and goes. my guess is this has to do with the interaction between SMO and the HADR specific management objects..

Steps to Reproduce

2 server WSFC
All databases in HA are on server A
Listner is active on server A
Create database on server B
connect SSMS to server B directly
right click on NON HA local db

Actual Results

Error stating that the datbase is not accessible because it is in a high availability group. But the message contains the name of a database that was not selected in SSMS.

Hi, we were not able to repro. Please open a new issue with reference to this issue if this happens again. Please note the repro steps/info requested earlier posted.

Hi Jeff,
We have been trying to repro this on an earlier and later build and were not able to reproduce this.
Can you provide us with some more information: 1) does this still repro? 2) Can you provide repro steps if you thinks this helps to repro this? 3) You indicate 'it comes and goes' -- can you capture the SQL queries emitted during success and failure and attach these? You can use SQL Profiler to accomplish this.
