Description

When working in SSDT with a project open in the solution explorer and the project explorer when you right click on an object the context menus are different. In this case specifically the refactor menus allowing you to rename an object are different. This is annoying at least and very confusing to users at best.

mrdenny - thanks for the question and problem report.

We support object rename in the T-SQL editor for objects defined in a project and in SQL Server Object Explorer for live objects on a database for which you are browsing. That is becuase there is not a hard link between the file name and the object name defined in that file. The selection in one case is on the file, the other is the object.

hope that helps - Erick
