Description

Hi, here is a list of improvement points:

1) it should be possible to subscribe for several Render Formats in a single Reporting Service Subscription so that you get just one mail with e.g an excel and a pdf version of the report.

2) it would be great if the default view of the reporting service web interface is in List mode.

3) in Chrome the drop down elements of the reporting service website do not work (not sure if the problem is on Microsoft or google side)

4)it would be great if we could specify a width property for report parameters! atm when you specify a query to return a list of parameter values the parameter box is too small to display all characters!

5) The overall layouting features should be enhanced. It is quite difficult to design a A4 Letter report.

Hello,
Thank you for submitting this feedback. After carefully evaluating all of the bugs in our pipeline, we are closing bugs that we will not fix in the current or future versions of SQL Server. The reasons for closing these bugs are following:
1.     The fix is risky to implement in the current version of the product (service packs)
2.     Scenarios reported in the bug are not common enough
3.     A viable workaround is available
Thanks again for reporting the product issue and continued support in improving our product.

Point 1 is especially meritorious. Yes a (poor) workaround is to subscribe with a second email and format, but that means double the resource usage and potentially different results between the executions for each sub - clearly bad and confusing.

Point 2 s/b an option for each User.

Point 3: Chrome is a great browser that should be respected even by Microsoft and included in the browser compatibility QA testing. IETab plugin is very usable if MS doesn't take any action.

Point 4 may be a duplicate. MANY have requested greater control over the parameter area, which is one of the weakest parts of SSRS and a royal pain to work with and an embarrassment to have to demo to a user!

Point 5: Agreed! The designer gets harder to provoke into showing what you want - it sometimes takes minutes to provoke it into showing the chart series and grouping when there are three charts overlaying each other (visibility controlled by a User choice at execution).
