Description

Being able to add metadata via Extended Properties for databases and database objects is an excellent feature. It enables us, for example, to record why a database was created – we can record a request reference ID for this.

However logins do not have Extended Properties. Can you please add Extended Properties for logins and any other database server objects that do not yet have them? This way we can record request reference IDs (etc) for new logins.

Months and years after databases and logins have been created, database staff can spend ages trying to work out whether these items are still required. Extended Properties metadata can help staff quickly establish this by telling us who created them, and why and when this was done.

With login metadata, auditors could quickly establish whether logins are necessary. With just a login name (which may be a meaningless number) this is hard to do.

Hi,

Thanks for your suggestion. This is a good suggestion, but unfortunatley, we will likely not be able to make this change in the near future. However, I have added it to our DCR database.

Thank you.
