Description

When deploying an SSRS report in 2012, the WritingMode property set to Rotate270 appears identical to the results when set to Vertical. While different when previewing in development in SSDT, the results when deployed are the same ... text reads "top-down" versus "bottom-up" for the Rotate270 setting.

Hello SSRS Team,

We are setting up a new SSRS environment after a couple of developers like me informed about SSRS and its features and it being free with SQL Server as currently we use a 3rd party reporting tool,I have informed the client that SSRS work without any issue in IE , so as part of proto type we replicated few existing reports which uses Rotate270 and they look good in SSDT-BI and when exported to PDF but Rotates only 90 degree when deployed to Report Manager and viewed in IE and not rotate at all in chrome, if the SSRS is not even supported in IE then how can a hard core Microsoft BI developer like me can encourage clients to use SSRS, these issues might sound small for you but they lead to switching to a different reporting environment and eventually server, hope you guys understand and fix these issues.

Hello,
Thank you for submitting this feedback. After carefully evaluating all of the bugs in our pipeline, we are closing bugs that we will not fix in the current or future versions of SQL Server. The reasons for closing these bugs are following:
1.     The fix is risky to implement in the current version of the product (service packs)
2.     Scenarios reported in the bug are not common enough
3.     A viable workaround is available
Thanks again for reporting the product issue and continued support in improving our product.

Hello,

We have seen this issue and this is due to browser limitations and support requirements. We are considering improving this functionality in a future release.

Thanks,
