Description

We've encountered a fault when running Management Studio with an account with redirected application data folder residing on a domain DFS root.

- Running procmon shows that the console is looking for %APPDATA%\Microsoft\SQL Server Management Studio\11.0
- In our environment this maps to a DFS path of "\\domainname.local\Organisations\BusinessUnit\Users\%USERNAME%\Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\SQL Server Management Studio\11.0"
- When the test for this folder fails an attempt to create folders down the folder tree to that point is made
- This fails with "ACCESS DENIED" at the "\\domainname.local\Organisations" level (we don't allow users to create folders at this level and nor does DFS.
- SSMS returns "The Application Data folder for Microsoft Visual Studio Isolated Shell Environment could not be created"

We've come across this problem before, but not with Microsoft products (Adobe do this kind of thing too often). What this needs is a test for the existence of the folder, not an attempt to create it first. If the required folder doesn't exist *then* go ahead and create it.
