TAP and RDP Home TAP and RDP Defined Is TAP/RDP Right for You? Agreements FAQ

Successful business-to-business (B2B) partnerships are built on a foundation of mutually satisfied needs.

Microsoft's Technology Adoption Program (TAP) and Rapid Deployment Program (RDP) help provide our product groups with actionable feedback critical to the production of high-quality, feature-rich software. In addition, the real world experience of the programs' participants informs and influences how we market new technologies.

In return, TAP/RDP programs provide participating organizations a wealth of opportunities:

TAP Bullet Lead…
the market by adopting critical enabling technologies early
TAP Bullet Influence… and shape the final product by providing early and deep feedback
TAP Bullet Connect… with expertise to obtain a deep understanding of strategic emerging technologies

To achieve these benefits, TAP/RDP requires a deep commitment from both parties throughout the technology's life cycle. For example, beyond the testing and evaluation of multiple releases and scenarios, many TAPs and RDPs also require that you deploy pre-release technology in your production environment.

This level of commitment is not always the right fit. Many companies choose instead to participate in “breadth” programs (e.g., beta releases) that—while providing a much lower level of support—provide for testing and evaluation of emerging software without the depth of commitment required by TAP/RDP.

If your company has critical business problems that you think can be solved by Microsoft emerging technologies, and you have the support and resources necessary for a true partnership, we would welcome you into the TAP/RDP community!

Note: TAP and RDP are business-to-business (B2B) programs, and are not designed for individual end users. For information about pre-release Microsoft programs available to you as an individual, refer to Microsoft Connect and Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP).
