Why was this site set up?

Our goal is to create a community around product feedback and provide you with a channel for communication with the engineering teams working on Visual Studio and the .NET framework. We want to partner with you to keep improving these products.

What happens to bugs and suggestions once they are submitted through this site?

Our goal is to create a community around product feedback and provide you with a channel for communication with the engineering teams working on Visual Studio and the .NET framework. We want to partner with you to keep improving these products.

How long will it take for me to get a resolution?

It varies. Teams get a number of Bugs and suggestions through the Connect site and they will keep reviewing all the bugs and suggestions you submit. These will be prioritized with the rest of their work items and they will fix the appropriate bugs and suggestions. When your bugs or suggestions are fixed, they will appear in the next service pack or major release.

What if I have a question or need more information about Visual Studio & .NET Framework?

We encourage you to submit questions in the MSDN Forums, which have a support staff of technology experts dedicated to assisting you in finding the best solution to your issues. We also recommend visiting the MSDN Developer Centers which contain a rich set of information about these products.

What do I do if I have an issue related to the Connect Site?

Who do I contact if I have a general Question about this process?

The Developer Division Community Connection team manages this site and the bug & suggestion submission process. You can contact us by sending us an Email.

What if I am unsatisfied with the handling of a Connect issue?

You can indicate your satisfaction with how Microsoft handled this issue by completing this quick 3 question survey. We are closely monitoring the satisfaction level of the community for the different teams across the division so rest assured that you are being heard.

When completing the survey, you will be prompted for the Connect ID of the issue you are reporting. You can identify the Connect ID for any issue by either reviewing the URL of the issue or by looking at the ID of the issue on the top right section of the page as highlighted below.

Can I submit feedback in another language besides English?

Feedback is only accepted in English and Japanese. To submit feedback in Japanese, please use the Visual Studio Japanese Connect Site.

How can I submit feedback that can only be viewed by Microsoft ?

When submitting an issue, you have the ability to mark an issue as private. When you do so, the issue will only be viewed by you and Microsoft.

If you try accessing an issue and you get a permission error. It is highly probable that the issue was marked as private by the issue submitter.

How can I submit feedback on other technologies besides DevDiv products?

We only accept feedback for Developer Division technologies through the http://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio site. If you would like to provide feedback on other Microsoft technologies, please visit the Connect Directory: https://connect.microsoft.com/directory/
