Workaround(s)
When you first start VS2005 you're asked what type of developer you most want to be. This determines which news feed is selected initially on the start page. However there's no discoverable way to switch between these afterwards.

Problem Statement
We're told the start page can use any valid RSS feed which is all very well, but within the IDE there should be some list of Microsoft's Visual Studio-related feeds so we can easily switch between them at a later date.
Proposed Solution
The page at http://msdn.microsoft.com/aboutmsdn/rss/ yields some working URLS but these are of a different format to the defaults, and this isn't discoverable within the IDE. I'd suggest a drop-down list on the start page itself.

Hi Andrew - thanks for the great suggestion. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be able to do this for Orcas. However, I have blogged a list of the RSS feeds that are included as part of VS 2005 Pro at http://blogs.msdn.com/aaronbrethorst/archive/2006/09/08/746613.aspx.

Thanks again,
Aaron Brethorst
