User(s) can reproduce this bug
When invoking rearrange layout on a sequence diagram the lifelines are not resized (i.e. the height does not change)

Details (expand)

Product Language

English

Version

Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2

Operating System

Windows XP

Operating System Language

English

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a sequence diagram

2. Remove some lifelines that are not important to simplify the diagram

3. Invoke rearrange layout to compress the diagram

Actual Results

The diagram is properly compressed from left to right but not from top to bottom: the remaining lifelines stay too long. This makes printing the diagram as-is impossible. One needs to manually resize all the lifelines...

Expected Results

The height of the lifelines should be automatically reduced to the minimum possible size.

Hi Gartaud,
I've just fixed this issue by changing the behavior to that:

After the layout, we will not stretch to default height if the lifeline height is shorter (Typically, this is caused by user manually making it shorter) before the layout. If lifeline is longer than default, we will stretch/shrink as needed.

Thanks!

Hey gartaud,

Thanks for the suggestion. You are absolutely right - we should shorten the lifelines on layout as well.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to fix this issue for this release - but we are actively looking at it for future iterations.

Thanks and keep the great suggestions coming.
