Hi,

You can try these steps to get your tools in extension manager:
Option1:
1. Exit Microsoft Visual Studio 2010
2. Open browser to check whether you have access to internet.
3. Launch Microsoft Visual Studio 2010
4. Try again Go to Tools>Extension Manager>Online Gallery>

Option2:
1. If you are unable to download them from Extensin Manager, alternatively, you can download and install them from the link http://visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com/
2. Restart Microsoft Visual Studio 2010
3. You should be able to find them in your extension manager.

Thank you.

Same problem - not addressed? Why does MS make it so tough to download extensions from MS? Everything needs to be more complicated than it should be.

Hello Microsoft,

I have the same problem.

Am using Visual Studio C# Express beta 2010. Downloaded last week.

Tried to create a new project. There were no options for a database project so I clicked Online Templates. Got a message to enable online browsing: (1) Ensure in options that Disable all online content is not checked (it is not checked). (2) That there is an Internet connection (there is).

Went to Tools, Extension Manager and clicked Click here to go online and find extensions and got the error: Connat search for online extensions because an error occurred while trying to contact the server.

No matter what I tried, could not get online.
