I would really like to see F# available like it used to be in the VS 2008 Shell (Integrated) or via a "Visual F# Express" kind of tool. Maximize the exposure to the language, please!

As of the F# August 2010 CTP release, it is now possible to use F# with VS2010 Shell, and to target .NET4 with the CTP release.

See http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=151924.

Thanks again for all the feedback on this!

I also agree with the express for all languages suggestion, perhaps have a dynamic installer which has a customise option so un-required languages can be excluded to reduce download size?

I second the original requestors. Please do have an Express edition for F# as well as Shell mode, and if I want to mix and have a hybrid with other languages I should not download and maintain 3 different editions for each language.

Thanks for the feedback on this. We are looking into options for how best to make something available.

@a688 - +1 for an Express version that supports every language.

I'd like to see a VS 2010 version instead. Actually I'd rather have a(n express) version of VS that supported every language instead of having a shortcut to VS for each language.
