If Speech Recognition is in the "Listening" mode, a program developed in Visual Studio 2010 will have a hung process when the user exits the program. The user must go into Task Manager and either End Task or End Process on the executable.
The application developed in Visual Studio 2010 contains the mfc100.dll, msvcp100.dll and msvcr100.dll.

Visual Studio 2010 SP1

1) The Speech Recognition floating window displays that it is in the "Listening" mode.
2) Start an application created in Visual Studio 2010 which will contain mfc100.dll, msvcp100.dll and msvcr100.dll.
3) Exit this application.
4) Try again to start this appplication, but it is not possible.
5) Start Task Manager and notice that .exe is still running as a process.

Process hangs when exiting the program when Spech Recognition is in the "Listening" mode. Need to End Process or End Process in Task Manager to start the program again.

It should be possible to exit the program normally when Speech Recognition is in the "Listening" mode.

Hello,

Thanks for the report. We have investigated this and found that there is a workaround that can be applied in the application code. We have not added the fix to MFC itself because we're not sure that it won't have some negative effect in some other situation.

The suggested workaround is to add the following code to CMainFrame::OnClose:

if (m_pProxy != NULL)
{
::CoDisconnectObject ((IAccessible*)m_pProxy, NULL);
}
