Description

We have a C++ file that cannot be compiled in the VS2012 compiler in Release builds. It worked in VS2010.

The compiler (and, frankly me too) seems to have a problem with a 500+ line method in the attached file , _AdjustGeometricalAndWordContext. If you comment out the body, it compiles.
I have also managed to workaround by refactoring out methods so it compiles.

OK, Thank you anyway! We have a workaround in factoring out code to reduce the size of the original code.

Hi!

The file is part of a huge project and I'm afraid I cannot send this to you and it's also very hard to reproduce the same problem as I see it. Sorry.

Regards,

Thanks for your quick response. It may help if you provide us with a /v:diag log. You can get them easily by going to Tools/Options, Projects/Solutions, Build/Run, and setting the MSBuild verbosity to "Diagnostic" in both dropdowns. Then, just copy/paste from the Output Window in the IDE.

For command line, you can pass in "/v:diag" switch to MSBuild.EXE and it will produce a diagnostic-level log.

Thanks again for your efforts and we look forward to hearing from you.

Unfortunately, the (legacy) code is also wery tightly coupled and it is not easy to break out the file with the compiler problem. Is there any way to sumit any logs from the compiler if I recompile that could be of any help?
