The same .sln file opens on another PC with no problems.

Steps to reproduce

Try to open the .sln.

Product Language

English

Operating System

Windows 8

Operating System Language

English

Actual results

The output window shows:
    name.csproj : error : Specified cast is not valid.
and the project does not open.

Expected results

Solution file opens.

Hi Barry - we haven't heard back from you in a while, and have not been able to reproduce this issue ourselves without more information. We're closing this as not reproducible for now, but if you find any additoinal information that can help us narrow this dow, please do let us know, and we'll take a closer look.

Issue is resolved, kind of. The machine didn't have the "Microsoft Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2012 - Preview 2 - ENU" SDK installed. Not exactly easy to infer from the error message.
