Description


The error message apears when I try to build an asp.net project on windows server 2008 r2 standard edition and the text is :

Error    28    The build stopped unexpectedly because of an internal failure.
System.Text.EncoderFallbackException: Unable to translate Unicode character \uDC03 at index 859 to specified code page.

Thank you for the valuable feedback. Though we will not have a chance to address this issue in Visual Studio 2012, we will consider this feedback when planning for future versions of Visual Studio. Investments in this area will be weighed against the impact of other customer reported issues.

Hello and thank for your answer.
I reinstalled Visual Studio, but the problem is not resolved.
When I said it works on another system I mean not the same configuration. I guess it is more a problem generated by the operating system or net framework.
It would be great if you could help me further!

Hello and thank you for your feedback. We are unable to reproduce the issue in our labs, and as you mention, the project does not run into the same issue on another machine. It sounds like there might have been an installation issue. Please repair or reinstall Visual Studio. If this does not resolve the issue, feel free to reactivate.
