Description

I deleted two cshtml files from my MVC app using the Solution Explorer. A gated check-in rejection revealed to me that the .csproj file was not updated when I deleted the view files. I went back and tried again and was able to reproduce the problem. The csproj file was not modified until I did a build of the project. At least in my opinion, when you delete a file from the project, the proj file should be immediately updated to reflect the change.

Hello,

As was mentioned several weeks ago, this is the expected behavior in VS. Files (including CSPROJ) are not saved unless the user explicitly saves them.

Thanks,
The ASP.NET Team.

I believe this is an expected behavior. After you delete a file, you would need to save the project by clicking "Save All". When you do a build, it automatically saves the project file.
