Workaround(s)
When Windows resynchronizes a RAID-1 array (possibly also goes for any other kind of software RAID on Windows), the resynchronization will occur whether the user wants it or not.

This has a huge impact on performance and the user is prevented from scheduling the resynchronization for a time when the system isn't under load or (in case of Windows 7 home system, when the system can be left running to resynchronize, eg. when its owner is at work)

Being able to pause resynchronization would also provide a solution for issue issue #489528 (multiple software RAID partitions on two drives are synchronized simultaneously).

Please provide a justification for why you think this new feature should be added to Windows Server 2008.
Because it would provide me with a workaround to other problems with the Windows RAID implementation (see issue #489528) and because it would allow me to reschedule the resynchronization to a time when the system is normally idle.
