Workaround(s)
How do I get the client mmc for Active Directory Users and Computers on Windows Server 2008. I'm running a web server and want the ability to view and manage AD like I used to do on Windows XP. I found out how to add them to Vista, but have no clue for Windows Web Server 2008.
Details (expand)
Server Role:
Web Server (IIS)
Please describe how you would like this behavior to change?
Make it easier to add administration tools to this build.
Please provide a justification for why you think this change should be made?
I'm finding it easy to figure out for every other OS you have.

Thanks, the instructions helped. But for me in windows 2008 R2, "Domain Services" was abbreviated to DS and LDS instead of Domain Controller.

This is not installed by default. You need to enable it by taking the steps below:

Server Manager | Features | Add.

Drill down to: Remote Server Administration Tools | Role Administration Tools | Active Directory Domain Services Tools | Active Directory Domain Controller Tools.

Don't install Windows 2008 Web Server. If I had installed Standard or Enterprise, this wouldn't be an issue. I'll upgrade it when I apply R2.
