We at Conchango are currently working with a digital retailer and we're pitching to them the idea of leveraging the Mesh APIs in their 3rd party site. Essentially we want to show them that when somebody purchases (e.g.) an mp3 from them, that mp3 file can be saved directly into the customer's Mesh.

That scenario will require the 3rd party having some way of allowing the user...<BR><BR>Status: Active, 0 Up-Votes, 0 Down-Votes, 0 validations, 0 workarounds, 4 comments, feedback id: 356508
<a10:updated>2008-11-14T09:08:29-08:00</a10:updated>

Hand on Lab 2 - LiveID in a resource file is bad practice

I was very concerned that the HOL 2 asked you to enter your LiveID password in a resource file. Many people have very sensitive things guarded by their LiveID password (expedia, etc). A completed HOL is the type of thing someone may unthinkingly show to other people and so revealing their LiveID password. Would it be so hard to get the user to enter the password in the lab. It obviously also shows much better practice.

Are these values exposed in the regular Live profile somewhere or are they Mesh specific?

And a concern over terminology for a global service

“Use of "Major" and no mention of "University" means that his obviously heavily influenced by the US education system. Do you think its a good idea to tie the profile to one country's education system when Mesh is meant to be global?”

I also notice that you explicitly check for this value in the

This seems really strange to me. I would have thought that that
ParentId value would be the same as the Id of the MeshObject itself
(i.e. MeshObject.Resource.Id). Why is that not the
case?

claw back some search share from Google. Its likely that as people

That is A LOT of data that Google is not going to have access to so if
you can index that data and make it searchable through

This is possible today at Live Spaces so I see no privacy-type reasons why it shouldn't be available in LiveFX. If we can do it with screen-scraping, why not using an API.

This was discussed at length on this thread: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/liveframework/thread/9e9a2d83-7760-416c-9c75-47afb095ac04/

We're working on architecting a solution right now that will involve moving data entries from one feed to another. This involves a delete from one place and an add to another - classic transaction scenario. Unfortunately there's nothing in LiveFX that enables me to make this an ACID (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACID...<BR><BR>Status: Active, 0 Up-Votes, 0 Down-Votes, 0 workarounds, 0 comments, feedback id: 381918
<a10:updated>2008-11-14T01:39:46-08:00</a10:updated>

problem re-deploying silverlight app in the mesh

have a very simple silverlight app (just reads the user name and puts it in a textbox); so the first time I go and create a new project in the Azure Devs Portal, upload the package for the first time, and then I run the app. It works like a champ.
